This is gonna be awesome!!!
MIDWAY STILL
Midway Still originally emerged in a whirl of long hair and Dinosaur Jr. Husker Du esque loud, lazy guitar onslaught in the early 90s, showing a live work ethic similar to contemporaries Mega City Four. 1991's debut single I Won't Try earned them NME plaudits, and debut full length, Dial Square, appearing the following year, showed not only a bats ear for a tune amongst all the guitar fuzz, but also spawned an indie dancefloor favourite in the phenomenal Better Than Before. Subsequent personnel changes and record label indifference saw them lose momentum, and Swindons Monkey Club was ultimately the venue for one of their two farewell shows, first go around. However, like the proverbial bad penny, they’re back with a new album scheduled for release in May 2010 on the legendary Boss Tunage label, and threaten more noise and chaos this time around. Growing old disgracefully; more power to The Still!
THE DAY I SNAPPED
Formed in 2001, The ‘Snapped have opened for the proverbial “who’s who” of punk rock playing the Barrowlands and SECC along the way, although to what end remains to be seen! Drawing influence from such luminaries as Descendents to Hot Water Music and anything else melodious and loud, they released their debut album “Hooked on Disaster” in 2006 on Lockjaw Records. At the time of press the finishing touches are currently being put on the follow up.
Upcoming shows....
22nd Oct - Glasgow Nice N Sleazys w/ Beauty Scool Dropout & The Day I Snapped 7:30pm
